If your children go crazy with Japanese food, it's time to start learning how to prepare some of the delicacies that this gastronomy offers us. One of the star dishes in Japan is sushi, it is a rice-based dish that can be prepared in different ways: nigiri, temaki, inari, uramaki, maki ...

On our site we teach you to preparing classic maki sushi at home quickly and easily. Maki rolls are rolls that can be prepared with raw fish, vegetables or fruits such as avocado. A delicacy that is taken with soy sauce.

  • Rice
  • Nori seaweed sheets
  • Water
  • Raw salmon (previously frozen)
  • Cucumber (or avocado)
  • Carrot
  • Rice vinegar
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Soy sauce

1- Before cooking the rice it is important to wash it to remove any starch it may contain and thus make it easier to work with it later. It is also preferable to use rice for sushi.

2- Cook the rice in a pot for 15 minutes after the water starts to boil. Cover the casserole while it cooks and do not open it. Let the rice rest and do not open the lid until another 15 minutes have passed.

3- Cut the cucumber (or avocado) and carrot into thin strips and reserve.

4- Mix half a small cup of rice vinegar with a tablespoon of salt and another of sugar and mix well.

5- Spread seaweed on a wooden mat (which will be used to roll it later) and spread the rice on it, make furrows and pour rice vinegar little by little.

6- In those grooves, place the vegetables or raw salmon (previously frozen, never fresh, especially if it is for children) and roll it up using the mat, try to make it tight.

7- Then cut into slices and serve with soy sauce. Enjoy your meal!
